Harmonizing with You

Sharpen Your Marketing Edge with
Targeted Marketing Consulting & Copywriting

Here's an idea of what you can expect when we work together on a project (subject to change depending on your needs).

1) How much client time is involved?
Usually I conduct a series of interviews at the outset of each project. Depending on the project, I may interview one person or several people. The subject matter of each interview is based upon specific questions, tailored to collecting information for that particular project.

2) What are my research tools and methods?
Before we discuss a specific project, I read through your company publications, web site and related industry information. Before writing, I learn about your organization, its customers, products, market and critical success factors by asking you and your staff targeted questions and listening closely to your answers. I'll also review your competitors' web sites, marketing materials and approach as well as industry related magazines and on-line information, as needed.

3) What is my process for quoting a project?
Typically I work with clients on a per project basis. After we determine the details of a particular project, I'll send you a letter of agreement. This agreement includes a project description, a list of tasks based on a timeline, deadlines, and a quote. If we agree upon the contents of the letter, we sign it and start the project. If not, we continue talking until we come to an agreement.

4) How do I administer your projects?
The scope, billing, responsibilities, schedule and deadlines of all projects are agreed upon beforehand in a letter of agreement (See What is my process for quoting a project?). The letter of agreement is my roadmap, from step one to the final review. If the project grows or changes significantly outside of this agreement, I may suggest that we put together a new agreement and estimate, to ensure that the time commitment, goals, estimates and deadlines are reasonable and accurate for both of us.

5) What are my reporting and communications policies?
I communicate all day-to-day issues and questions by e-mail, and pick up the phone for detailed discussions and time sensitive topics. As the project progresses, I'll send you periodic updates.

6) How do we determine when a project is done?
You, the customer sign-off on the project. The number of revisions is agreed upon beforehand, but can vary by one or two cycles.
